Applying to Graduate School

 

  1. Go to the Graduate School website and find out what requirements you need for your program in terms of 

    • Type of bachelor degree needed

    • TOEFL score

    • GRE scores

  2. Go to the Department website and find out more information. 

  3. Email to the graduate coordinator (listed in Graduate degree programs). Include the following information

    • Description of your Bachelor's Degree and the University you obtained it from.

    • TOEFL/IELTS and GRE scores. If you have not taken the GRE exam yet ask whether they need the GRE score. Some programs require to take it and others do not.

    • The type of research you are interested in.

    • Ask how Teaching/Research assistantships are provided

  4. Contact us through the  Contact, and we will provide you with additional information.

  5. Complete the ONLINE APPLICATION, pay the application fee and print out the application.

  6. An important part of the application is the personal statement. Look at example personal statements and guides to write a good personal statement before you write your own. Make sure there are no grammatical/spelling mistakes in your statement.

  7. Recommendation letters are submitted electronically via Mississippi state graduate school

  8. Keep in contact with the graduate school and department to know what stage your application is at
